Hey Tumblr…In just 3 short days, I will be running my second marathon. I am traveling to the great (and flat) state of Wisconsin to take on all 26.2 miles of this challenge with some great friends. I feel extremely under prepared, and very nervous. Will everyone send me good thoughts of strong legs and a calm mental state for Saturday morning? Please and Thank you. I can’t stop thinking about this tragedy in Colorado. It is so awful that someone feels they have the right to take peoples life, take others loved ones, people’s mothers and sons and sisters. They have the audacity to take these valuable people from our planet, these loved people away from the rest of us to satisfy whatever it is they are trying to satisfy. The amount of pain, and loss that this one individual has caused is astounding. And he knew. You must know what you are doing to our planet, to our home and community on this planet when deciding to make actions like this.

I always remeber after 9/11 in a memorial service on TV the wife of the man who tackled the terrorists was there, and she was so proud of her husband. She was there with her children. And think of her husband. The courage it must take to challenge this terrible person in front of you. What it would feel like to see such an evil person in front of you. Everyone take care of each other. Do your best to be kind, to everyone, and rid our communities of evil one small step of kindness at a time.

Well Hello there kittens! So, you may or may not have noticed that I have been MIA for sometime now…and I apologize for that. I love you. I do. Still. Very much.

Things have been just a little crazy over here in SF, mostly because I started a new job at an amazing firm and I love it, and its taking all of my time and attention. But I will be blogging again. “A few years ago while speaking with the artist at his opening reception, he asked me what inspired my work and I pointed to my client who was also at the gallery. He looked at me and asked what I meant. I explained to him that my work was inspired by a client’s personality, lifestyle and history. I went on to say that my interpretation of their individual needs is what helped to define the design. He was visibly shocked by my reply and told me that it must be very compromising to be an architect. I was equally shocked by his response and politely walked away. That was the day that I realized why I was an architect and not a sculptor. I have never regretted my career choice.”
